Battle of Namozine Church
The Battle of Namozine Church occurred on April 3, 1865, at a small crossroads in Amelia County, Virginia.  It was a small and inconclusive engagement along Lee's Retreat, 6 days before his surrender at Appomattox.  A brigade of North Carolina cavalry from Gen. Fitzhugh Lee's division fought one of Gen. George Custer's brigades.  Of the 800 Confederate soldiers involved in the battle, 75 were killed or wounded and 350 were captured.
